Enable Sleep, Lock & Hibernate in Shutdown/Power Menu (Windows 10/11)
Follow these simple steps to make Sleep, Hibernate and Lock show in the Shutdown/Power menu.
Step 1 — Open Power Options
Press Windows + R, type control powercfg.cpl and press Enter.Step 2 — Choose what power buttons do
- Click Choose what the power buttons do in the left pane.
- Click Change settings that are currently unavailable.
- Under Shutdown settings, tick Sleep and Hibernate, then click Save changes.
Fix: Hibernate missing
Open Command Prompt (Admin) and run:
powercfg /hibernate on
Fix: Lock missing
Open Run (Win + R), type gpedit.msc → User Configuration → Administrative Templates → Start Menu and Taskbar → Enable Show lock in the Start menu.
